  1. as for white have no idea, but all I can say is OJ.

  2. no i can't but its' a fact that there is a 2 tier justus system in this country one for blacks and one for whites.

  3. Gary Ridgeway, the Green River Killer, plea bargained his way out of the death penalty, even though he admitted to killing 48 women.

Jake Bird was a serial killer who terrorised Washington during the 1930s and 1940s and was eventually hanged in 1949. He killed at least 44 women.

Another interesting thing that you could look at is that a person is more likely to get the death penalty if the victim is white than if the victim is black.

It is also interesting to look at the number of black men executed for rape compared to the number of white men executed for the same crime.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I do have an example - the parallel stories of Ted Kaczynski (The Unabomber) and Manny Babbitt.

David Kaczynski and Bill Babbitt believed their brothers had committed murders.  Knowing that their brothers were mentally ill, they were concerned that there might be more victims.  Both  men turned their brothers in to the authorities.  Ted Kaczynski and Manny Babbitt suffered from forms of schizophrenia. David and Bill hoped that they would be receiving treatment while safely incarcerated.  Ted Kaczynski was sentenced to life without parole while Manny Babbitt was sentenced to death and executed in the mid 1990's.

The difference: Kaczynski is white, the Babbitts are black.

In general, the race of the victim tends to be the key.  I suggest that you visit www.deathpenaltyinfo.org and click on race.  You will see that while whites and blacks are homicide victims in about the same numbers, approximately 79% of all executions have been for murders of whites.
