My ex boyfriend is in jail (we had been broken up 4 a few months b4 he went to jail) . When he first got locked up he contacted me. We spoke on the phone on several occasions & we wrote back & forth. Part of it was I felt sorry for him and part was b/c i genuinely cared & missed him. Well after alot of months went by i started dating someone & now he is my current BF & we are madly in love. I told my ex I couldn't write to him anymore. I was honest and said look i have found some1 i moved on (keep in mind i mean we were broken up b4 he even went to jail) I said please stop writing to me (ALL of his letters consist of I love u I miss u I am changed I want to be together when I get out). So now i have told him i have moved on and he has threatened the life of my new BF. He talks about killing him and shooting him...hunting us down..etc. My ex goes to court the end of next month and could possibly be released ( if not he has 2 more years to serve). Who do I contact and how much evidence do I need? I have only two letters where he makes his threats and one audio tape he made for me. Will the courts or cops or whoever even care about this?

  1. Take your information, the letters and the audiotape to the police immediately.  A terroristic threat is against the law in every jurisdiction.

  2. contact your local district attorney.  That office will be interested.  More to the point, find out about that hearing coming up.  If it is a parole hearing, you can be heard by the parole board.  If it is a court hearing, then the DA will be interested in your information.
