assume that all animals have a soul. since they do not know the difference between right and wrong, their soul cannot be punished for not doing the ethical and moral. if death is a beautiful end experience and the soul is a force that cannot be stopped (put to end) than its safe to say that the after life is what makes us human because we are in this world trapped in a meduim to one day escape from and go beyond.

what do you think?

  1. You assume that we have an immortal soul.

What makes us human is also that we know that we have to die.

  2. What makes us human is our desire.  Because we desire, we keep coming back to do it all again.  There's no intellect in that, in fact it's a form of ignorance.  We do have a chance to 'go beyond' but only with the wisdom that allows us to free our mind from thinking that all phenomena has inherent existence.  Animals can't do that but they can be 'punished' for killing in the sense that they take another lower rebirth because of their karma.

  3. I have this slight, discarded theory that "Life is but a dream,"meaning we're just dreaming it all.The only thing that can wake us up in our true home is death, and if we did what we had ambitions to do in this dream,we wake up in our true home, heaven or h**l.I don't really know, but perhaps I will whenever I "wake up."

I think this is similar to what you're saying, but if it ain't,sorry.
