Death of a football club by Arsene Wenger – English Premier League
Football is a strange thing, one minute you are at the top of the world whilst in the very next second; you are the public enemy no. 1. At the Emirates stadium, Arsenal have not been as comfortable at the legendary Highbury stadium.
With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316, Arsenal had a formidable squad that reached its peak in the invincible time period. The squad in question had the ability to continue its dominance for three to four
more years but Wenger opted against it.
Vieira was sold to Juventus, Arsenal did reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2006 but lost to Barcelona and in the aftermath of that final in Paris, Pires parted ways with the club. Ashley Cole was also sold soon after to
local rivals Chelsea as Arsenal’s “invincibles” broke away. Henry, one of the most prominent members of the invincibles squad was sold to Barcelona for a mere 14 million pounds as Arsenal went for a new direction, a youthful direction. Wenger’s belief in youth
seemed to be instilled in patience and offensive football.
The French manager opted to use Cesc Fabregas in central midfield, Gael Clichy was introduced at the left back spot after Ashley Cole opted to shift clubs and up front http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918. In the past
seven years these three players along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 have been at the core of Arsenal’s beautiful football. The football is good on the eye but there is no end product, there is nothing to show for all the tippy tappy stuff on the edge of the penalty area
week in week out because Arsenal are not a well rounded team.
They do not have character within their ranks, they do not know how to defend and they certainly don’t know how to win trophies. Last year was supposed to be the pinnacle of Arsene Wenger’s team whose claims of giving youthful
players a chance were wavering in the light his team’s failure to win anything. Arsenal reached the Carling Cup final against Birmingham City of all teams. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish’s team were seen as walkover for the Gunners but Wembley turned out to be a nightmare for
Wenger and his pack of kids.
Arsenal were frustrated for 90 minutes and then http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Obafemi-Martins-c28273 surprised everything when he capitalized on a mistake inside the Arsenal back line to give his team the lead. With two goals in the last ten minutes of the match,
Birmingham City won the Carling Cup and Wenger and his boys were left to dry out their eyes just like they were left to do so in the aftermath of their UEFA Champions League semi-final defeat in 2009 against Manchester United. Now Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas
as well as Gael Clichy all want out. Clichy has already got his wish and the French full back has put pen on paper at Manchester City.
Nasri has made it clear that he wants to win trophies and evidence suggests that he won’t do that during his team at Arsenal given that they have failed in the past seven years to do so. Fabregas is keen on a move back to his home
land where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 wait for his arrival. It is all turning to dust at the Emirates stadium. Arsene Wenger is now left with the possibility of remaking his side again after his experiment has failed but the Frenchman is still reluctant to invest whilst the
likes of City, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 splash money on their transfer targets.
During the late 1990s, Wenger was hailed as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s saviour as they rose up to challenge Manchester United but now he should be credited with their downfall, it is his philosophy that has failed to bring success to the Emirates
stadium.
