  1. I am so sorry for your loss. You just need to remember how much you loved her and how much she loved you. Remember the good times you had with her. Try to think back to the first day you got her (she was probably nervous if you got her from a pet store) and then think of how she was recently and know that she grew to become comfratable with you and allowed you to hold her and play with her. Also, now that you have suffered this terrible loss, don't take your other rat for granted. Try to spend more time with it than you had before, because as you just learned, you never know when you will lose her.

Again, I am so sorry and I hope that this has helped you.

  2. I was going to write something, then I saw that poem m3k sent you. GOD that was beautiful!!!!!

  3. i had a hamster and my sister brought him over to me and i found that he was acting wierd. then a couple mins later he died in my hand. i know how u feel and it will come easier after time! beleive me it did for me.

  4. Whenever I feel sad about a beloved pet that has passed on I always remember this beautiful poem:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  5. I sat by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I squeaked to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

    "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.

I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair

I tried so hard to let you know that I was sitting there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled; I think you knew...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning

And say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.

  6. get a cat dude.

    rats hate cats.

it will help u ta get over it cuz u will learn to adjust.

after all all gud things must *** to an end

  7. Oh, honey, don`t worry! Life brings you what you least expect. I know how it feels when you loose a loved one. 3 of my rats have died in the past, each with a horrible disease, it was heartbreaking. I best not talk about that to much, as this is probably not the most comforting story.

Just let it all out! It`s better outside than in. Go into your bedroom for a little while and and just think of all you have done for your rat and what a happy life you gave the little fellow or talk to someone (it`ll take your mind of it). At least you know he died in peace, that's the main thing. And don`t ever blame yourself, that is the worst thing you could do (it wan`t your fault so don`t ever think that).

Take a nice walk, have a nice hot bubbly bath, read a book or get lost in a whole other world. These are the best things you can do to take your mind of your rat being dead. Do not worry, relax. Deep breaths now (in and.......out). Are you relaxed???? Good. Now go on, what you waiting for???? It`s only going to make you sadder if you stay on here. Go have fun!

  8. same thing happend with me and my gf's hamster.. it lived for 2 years (which is as long as they usually live) and then it got sick and died. At least you know that its not sick or in pain anymore and that its Resting in Peace =). Sorry about your loss

  9. almost same thing but i have mice

um ell i got 3 girl mice after a monthe + i got another mouse and 1 of my others ran away and a few days later none of my mice were moving i thort they were dead and i cryied for about 1 hour but it tured out that the were just cold and now i have another mouse but this time its a boy so by the end of august i will have alot and i mean ALOT OF MICE and i am going to sell them to the pet shop and give them to people in my class

if your wondering i am 11 12 on saturday

i am so sorry about ur rat

  10. I know just how you feel. Rats are very special creatures, and we as owners get very attached to our little friends. My sympathies for your loss.

  11. I am so sorry about ur pet rat! I remember when my rabbit died, i was like 8 and i was so sad. We buried my rabbit in our yard and we put a cross over it. and we said our goodbyes. and that made us feel a little better. But it was sad for a 8 year old. But just think about the good times u spent with your rat and think of it as it was its time to go.

  12. I just watched my hamster die over a 3 week time period.  She kept getting sick then better then even more sick.  She did this several times.  The poor thing died 2 days ago.  It was extremely sad but my sister and I dug our hamster a nice deep hole with her bedding at the bottom so she could rest peacefully.  We also made her a tombstone out of a rock and wrote things on it.  Just remember that rodents don't live long and are very prone to sickness and diseases.  I'm sure you did everything you could have for your pet.  You will be fine in no time and will only smile at the good times you had with your rat.

  13. im sooo sorry,i have had tons of pets die.im an animal love,a big one.anyway, hopfully she did not die in pain.i got my very first pet when i was about 8,he was a rat and i named him spike.the day i got him i new we were ganna be best friends he fell asleep in my hands.the lady at the pet store didnt even have to put him in a box.he use to curl up in my hair and go to sleep.i loved him so much.he did two yrs later,on my parents anneversiry.i cried my eyes out.the important thing to remember is the she is in a better place and i dont think she would want to see you cry, would she.

  14. If the remaining one is not happy then...

If the remaining one is happy then it's not lonely!

  15. I am so sorry.  It is hard to lose a pet no matter what kind of pet it is.  My daughter was hysterical when her pet mouse died a couple of months ago.  She spent time with her mouse every day.  I know you are sad right now and I don't think it is a joke.  I am sure that your other rat will miss him so maybe you can get him a friend.  I lost my cat this winter from Pancreatitis.  He was only five.  I thought I would never stop crying.  I have but I will never forget him.  I look of photos of him and think about happy times.  I know that I made him happy by giving him a good home and caring for him and loving him and he made me so happy in return.  You won't cry forever but you will always miss him.  I did get two more cats since my Sylvester died but they could never take his place.  You can never replace the pet that you lost.  It is going to be okay.  I promise you.

  16. i know what you must be going through and i am so sorry my pet mouse died and i cried and was very upset i hope you can get through this loss and at least now you know that it is resting in peace don't let you other rat get lonely though please when you have let the loss sink in get the other rat a cagemate i hope you are ok x

  17. It sounds like your rattie had a good life. Their lives are short, but with good owners and bonding they can be very happy.

You will always have the memory of your little friend in your heart.

You will always remember your rat.

Why don't you do something symbolic to say goodbye. You can write him a little farewell letter and slip it into a helium balloon and let it go up into the sky to say goodbye.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is sad for you.

  18. i no how bad u feel,im so sorry for your loss

when my rats died i buried 1 in a wooden box marked with all our signatures and goodbyes

    i felt it really helped

read the poem ! its so beautiful

  19. PUT ME TO REST

Time to let me go my friend,

Because my life no-one can mend,

Its better to let me go this way,

Than watch me suffer night and day.

I'm happy to go, my time has come,

My quality of life is no longer fun,

Ive been so ill, so its not a bad thing,

To let me go forever resting.

Stay with me till I drift away,

    Fast asleep forever I pray,

To relieve me from suffering and pain,

What more can I ask from my best friend.

Don't be sad, I'll be free from pain,

Never to be ill ever again,

I know you'll miss me being there,

But all the memories you have to share.

Thank you for being my best friend,

And all my needs that you did tend,

Try not to be sad, try not to cry,

Now is the time to say goodbye

    Put me to rest.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

    "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair

I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled; I think you knew...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.
