Do you agree that the Supreme Court ruled against the death penalty citing nationwide belief that the death penalty would only cause the perpetrator to kill the child?
Steve Chabot, R-Ohio, a member of the Judiciary Committee questioning Attorney General Mukasey Wednesday, and disagreeing with the Supreme Court ruling, said he has introduced a bill that has been sponsored by three others in the House to amend the Constitution against the ruling, that death is cruel and unusual punishment for child molestation.
Only a Constitution amendment can overrule the Supreme Court. Do you think giving the death penalty to the perpetrator would cause her/him to kill the child to avoid it?
