...that relates to WW2, the Holocaust, Jews & religion somewhat (Night by Elie Wiesel), A Separate Peace by John Knowles, Romeo & Juliet, Alice in Wonderland-growing up, adolescence, or To Kill A Mockingbird (ex/capital punishment..). I need a debatable topic in which there is a LOT of research I can do to back it up; doing research paper..=/ Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated =] Thx in advance!

  1. I'm not sure what type of research you could do for this, but what about whether people should be allowed to deny the Holocaust.

  2. I adore To Kill A Mockingbird so I'll suggest something based around that.

You could do opposing views of the race problem, but I suppose that's a bit cliched, quite a common idea.

Or perhaps whether or not it was a true representation of Southern attitudes and beliefs at the time? People tend to assume that it is, but research may disprove that.

Maybe you could do some research to show how the problems experienced throughout the novel would have occured had they taken place today, for example, the house fire, Boo Radley, Tom Robinson's court case?

    Just a couple of suggestions.

    Good luck.

  3. OR -- Debate this:

Can prejudice be justified as a cultural response to social and political conditions?
