  1. I think that the driving age is fine where it is... altough it depends on the situation. like mine for instance... i grew up in the country and my parents didnt have time to take me to school and pick me up after sports practice.... so i got my LPE when i was 14.... however, I do think that young drivers should ahve to go through a training program for longer than they do now..... especially city children who dont have the privaliage of learning how to drive out in the country out of harms way before their feet even reach the pedals...

  2. i don't think it should but you can look for sources on wikipedia?

  3. Yes I think it should be lower. People should be allowed to drive at 14. Why? If you tell right from wrong, you can drive. Yes younger people lead to a lot more accidents, but that due to a lack of teaching them maturity and responsibility more than anything because its this subgroup of that population that cause the accidents. Remember its not the age...but rather the imbecile factor.

  4. yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  i think that children ,such as teenagers, should not be able to drive, nor should elderly ppl. The ages should be 18, no sooner than that, and 65. Before the elderly get their first social security check, they should relinquish their liscence, otherwise , no check will be forthcoming til they do. Studies show that more elderly ppl cause accidents, as well as young ppl, than any other age brackets.

  5. It is already difficult for younger people to get jobs and get back and forth to work.  Just take that into consideration in this.  I live 10 miles from town and it would be a pain to make the trip 2 times for a teen that works 4 hours a day at minimium wage.  All the money made would be paying for gas.  Need to just make what you drive or being able to not  a social status.

  6. Yes to at least 18 years of age...............

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 15- to 20-year olds.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 3,490 drivers in this age group died in motor vehicle crashes in 2006 and an additional 272,000 were injured.

Drivers age 15- to 20-years old accounted for 12.9 percent of all the drivers involved in fatal crashes and 16 percent of all the drivers involved in police-reported crashes.

Twenty-five percent of teen drivers killed were intoxicated. In 2002 (latest data available) the estimated economic cost of police-reported crashes involving drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 was $40.8 billion, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA, http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov ).

Among licensed drivers, young people between the ages of 15 and 20 have the highest rate of fatal crashes relative to other age groups, including the elderly. In fact, the risk of being involved in a fatal crash for teens is three times greater than for drivers age 65 to 69.

  7. Yes it should

  8. No, because young drivers are responsible for the majority of accidents.
