  1. HANDS DOWN --ITALY

SO many beautiful sights to see here. and it shouldn't be too cold in March. If I had to pick three sights to see: Rome (Vatican museum and St. Peter's, Coliseum, Trevi), Venice!, then Siena in Tuscany. Siena--My favorite place in the world. It is a medieval town, less traveled by tourists but amazing. Definitely go there, I studied there and can't wait to return. There are many medieval traditions there and the people are wonderful.

  2. You got me there.+

We honeymooned in Rotorua, New Zealand. Whow just fabulous and a lasting experience, we even got our own Tiki carved for us (brought 2 kids) but now we live in Italy, in Rome. For a honeymoon in mid-March ?

    1. Capri, never found a more romantic place.

    2. Amalfi, incredible scenery, long walks and lots of culture.

    3. Ravello, right next door, on the hilltop. Glamorous.

    4. Taormina, on the Sicilian coast, unique.

All sheltered and rarely cold in Spring.

As a reserve: Rome, the eternal, where we live. It's full of friendly spots and romantic corners - a must sooner or later.

  3. I spent 9 days in Rome in March a few years ago.  It was wonderful.  The weather was perfect for walking around a lot -- sunny and not too hot, not too cold.  Lots of sights to see, and the historic areas are walking distance to each other.

I haven't been to Australia yet, so I can't draw fair comparisons.

  4. That is a very hard decision to make. March is autumn in Australia, but the weather is usually still rather warm and lovely. In Italy it is starting to warm up towards spring. Really quite similar really. Both places are amazing for siteseeing.

Italy will be much more romantic and more historic. Go there for the amazing architecture, history, culture, art, lifestyle.

Australia, on the other hand, is absolutely amazing from a natural point of view. There is so much to see, it is exotic, different and more of an adventure holiday. If you travel around Australia, for eg up north you will also be able to visit natural resources like the Great Barrier Reef (states like Qld are in perennial summer).

They are both amazing options, decide if you want an adventure holiday or romatic/historic holiday.

Have a fantastic honeymoon, either way it will be one to remember. :)
