Debit Cards, Transfers & Account Details - HELP!?

You see my dad wants to transfer some money to my debit card. He said to give him my account details. What should i give him and where abouts is it on my card.

  1. He needs your sort code and account number only, along with the name of the bank.

    These aren't always on your debit card (it depends on the card).  

    If you have a HSBC account, the long number on the card contains the details.  If you ignore the first 4 digits, the next 6 digits are your sort code and the next 8 are your account number.

    If they're not on your card, they are on your statement, or you could ring your bank and ask them.

    A transfer will take 3 working days to go through, so if he transfers today you'll get it on Friday.  

    Otherwise he can do a 'CHAPS' payment, which is usually 1 day.


  2. you need your sort code, your account number and the expiry date i believe, these should all be labelled on your card.
