my son has received a debit card from lloyds TSB he is only 15 years old and i was worry that he will by things like alcohol online using it, or is there different types one for adults and one for children.

  1. I don't think you can order it online without providing proof of age.


  2. Who gets the bill? Keep an eye on it. Chances are he can't buy alcohol online but I know what you mean. Good luck.

  3. First, I didn't know you could buy alcohol online.

    Second, you're the parent.  Take the debit card away from him if you don't think he can use it responsibly.  Before you allow a 15 year old to have a bank account and a debit card, you should educate them completely on the proper way to manage that account.

    Frankly, a 15 year old would have to show me a lot of maturity before I would allow them to have a debit card.

  4. Legally, he isn't responsible for debts at 15. How did he get the card? Are you a cosigner? If so, then you are responsible.

    If someone sent him a card knowing he is 15, then they are crazy.

    If he lied to get the card, you may still be responsible.

    If he lied to get the card, then he probably can buy anything he wants online, since he has no conscience.
