Question:

Debt Collector Attorneys hounding me for credit card money??

I admit that I owe money on a credit card, but these people are asking me to pay 25% a month from my paycheck to resolve it. They won't answer my questions fully. What should I do? I can't afford an attorney myself.

25% of my paycheck is over $500 a month. And they are asking for more than the original amount owed. I feel like I'm being hyped.

And they have threatened garnishment of my wages!!!

  1. How much is the debt on the card? If they are asking for that much the Balance must either be very high or you are very behind.  Why have you not been paying at least the min.  amount.  The extra amounts they are asking for is the fee that you agreed to, if/when you debt is to be turned over to a third party.

Try getting a bank coonsolidation loan to pay off the Credit card and then pay that back.

  2. sorry but they are only asking fo the garnishment amount if they should take you to court -- you admit you owe the money -- the fees are because you are late -=-- downsize and start sending the max you can afford up to and over the 25% until you get it paid!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the bill collectors!

Lastly, here's an interesting alternative to conventional lending...getting a "social networking" loan from Virgin Money (from the same folks who run Virgin Airlines):
