Debt collectors calling my PHONE..but its not me?

They don't believe me either, how can I get them to stop calling me?

  2. If you just tell them not to call you, in most States they cannot. If they continue keep a recorcd of when they call. Also inform them that since you have demanded they cease, that you will report his to the local District Attorney. Then do so. They probably don't have time to do anything about it but that will usually stop them.

    Also, even though they normally record phone conversations, if you tell them that you are doing so they will usually hang up.

    Not long ago I had one call and illegally demand that I pay my wifes account. I had been told that they would record our conversation. I said I also was recording it, they immediatly asked me to stop. When I refused the hung up. Every time they called I told them I would record the conversation and they always hung up. My wifes account was actually paid up and was an electronic payment but he bank computer had gone down on payment day so it went directly to collection.
