I'm interested in completing a debutante in Melbourne VIC, how could I get into the Debutante circle? Just because my school have banned formals and I'd love to have a night, such as a deb, to celebrate.

  1. This is difficult if you don't attend a church or school that is holding a debutant night.

Catholic School, the Free Masons and some of the Churches and the Scottish Highland Associations in some towns hold debutant balls. Approach a minister of religion in your area. If you attend a state school or are going to TAFE you probably won't get into the Catholic School deb balls as I think that they are pretty much for their own schools.

As most deb balls are held about now and some preparation is necessary, I would think that you may have to wait until next year - but don't give in.

Here are a couple of web sites that may help you.

The above all lead to Arthur Murray

This is for the 2008 Deb Balls

  2. check out the local formal wear hire places, they may know of someone outside schools - perhaps a charity? - that is having a deb ball.

if you have a BF, perhaps his school would let you take part, or if  he attends a boys' school, the girls' school they partner?

  3. Request the management to give you a performance chance.
