Debutants clash at TUF 14 as Dustin Pague faces John Albert – TUF 14 Preview
As The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) continues with TUF 14 Finale on December 3, 2011, the event will feature two new fighters joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) circuit. TUF is produced by UFC and the promotion would welcome
two new faces who are American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters Dustin Pague and compatriot MMA fighter John Albert. Both fighters would face each other at TUF 14 with an aim of winning their debut bout.
24-year old Pague is enjoying a strong consecutive match-winning streak. He is undefeated in the last five fights he has been part of, and would be bringing his confidence and motivation to the ring. He did lose in his debut MMA
fight in October 2008 by the hands of Jon Owens. Pague then enjoyed a five-match winning streak followed by three straight losses from August 2009 to January 2010. In his MMA career, he has won ten bouts and lost five with none ending in a draw.
The 25-year old Albert, on the other hand, is also eager to fight in his debut UFC bout. He has won six fights in his MMA career and lost one only bout. For him, the UFC debut would mean a lot. He can prove his worth in the UFC
with a win and carryon with his career. Nicknamed Prince, the MMA fighter from Reno, Nevada, has been a good striker with effective grappling capabilities.
Albert will look for an early edge in the bout with his strikes. This means he needs to focus on the face and chest region of Pague for a straight shot. Keeping his grappling techniques in mind, Albert could takedown Pague followed
by his straight strikes and punches to the face region. Pague, on the other hand, also has good striking skills giving him a chance to have a counter attack for all of Albert’s offensive attacks.
Entering into the UFC debut fight, both fighters would want to make an impact in the UFC division. Their MMA careers have just started. An impressive performance at TUF 14 will give them a chance to enter the mainstream UFC circuit
to fight against the best fighter in the MMA and UFC division. Pague, who specializes in kickboxing, will use his MMA style techniques against Albert. However, Albert too would use his grappling manoeuvres to keep Pague down.
