Dec 8 is Hari Raya Haji. Is 9 Dec 2008 consider a public holiday in Malaysia as well?

Is 9 Dec 2008 a public holiday in Malacca? Does it mean that people in Malacca does not work and tudents doesn't need to go to school on this day? Only Malaysian or those staying in malaysia to answer, thanks a lot!
