I have built a 1-525 1-350 battleship a 1-525 aircraft carrier and they are so grey and bland (they're suppose to be yes I already know this ) however I have come across laser etched decals (I call them details) ladders, guns, hand rails etc etc but have no idea how you go about applying these to the ship, and how you attach them.

  1. the only ones that I ever seen have to be soaked in warm water with a few drops of dish soap, for a few minutes. the soap lets the decal slide easier so you'll be able to move it in the best position. then take a cotton swab to soak up any remaining water on the decal. any white residue will dry clear

  2. How about a very small dab of epoxy or glue?

  3. I have never heard of laser etched decals I have heard and built laser etched parts. these parts are simply glued on. decals on some resin kits can be a pain as they are very thin and tear easily and crumple up easily. the maker of your decals must have a web site I would hunt it down.

  4. I have used many laser etched parts from 1/35 to 1/350th,,they come on a metal sprue and have to be cut off with either a very sharp knife or mini pliers,,they can then be filed down and applied by bending the part to the required shape and then glueing with superglue or modellers superglue (cheaper)You can get good laser parts from Verlinden Products to fit 1/350th scale warships, and one pack will usually do one model,,
