Deccan Chargers captain Sangakkara blames bowling, fielding for defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders
Deccan Chargers’ captain Kumar Sangakkara cited butterfingered fielding and sloppy bowling in the death overs as the major causes of his team’s crushing 20-run defeat to Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders in an Indian Premier League game on Tuesday.
Riding on Yusuf Pathan’s aggressive innings of 47 runs from just 26 balls, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623 and his men put up a challenging score of 169 for 4.
In response, Sangakkara and company could only manage to reach 149 for 6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs and the Chargers slumped to their sixth loss in the ongoing tournament.
Pathan, who was dropped twice- first by Amit Sharma and then by Daniel Christian- cashed in on the opportunities and hammered the Deccan bowling attack in the death overs of the innings.
Pathan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Manoj-Tiwary-c1890 put together a destructive partnership of 80 runs off just 8 overs, which eventually made the difference between the two sides.

“We should have limited them to around 150-155. We need to hold our catches, bowl well in the death overs and build on solid starts. Kolkata outplayed us and it's back to the drawing board for us,” the dejected Sangakkara said.
Meanwhile, the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 captain lauded his openers who gave them some hope by providing a fantastic start.
On the other side, KKR skipper Gambhir heaped praise on his teammates for demonstrating a professional performance that took them to the top of the IPL season four standings.
“It was a professional effort from everyone, and it was a good performance from our bowlers to restrict them,” said Gambhir who did not field in most part of the Chargers innings due to a knee concern.
When asked about the nature of his injury, the Indian left-hander clarified, “I had a bit of pain in the knee and hopefully I should recover for the next game.”
