Deccan v Kolkata - Darren Lehman hints at changes in Deccan playing XI
Deccan Chargers' coach, Darren Lehman has hinted at fielding an altered squad in Tuesday’s game against Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792, 3 May, 2011.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746n batsman said that the team’s performance in the ongoing tournament has prompted them to bring changes in the side as they want to pick the best side for each and every game.
"Michael Lumb and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Juan-Theron-c69586 stand a chance of playing tomorrow,” said Lehman while talking to the reporters at the pre-match media conference. “When we are not winning, we look for changes and we will look at that. We will pick the best side for a particular game," he added further.
Darren Lehman has expressed disappointment over his team’s failure to win some close games. However, he was hopeful that Kumar Sangakkara and his men will come out good in the ensuing league matches.
The Chargers have had a roller-coaster campaign so far and with six points from eight games, the side languishes near the bottom of the tournament’s points table.
Kumar Sangakkara-led Deccan Chargers are scheduled to play next three games at home and according to Lehman, they want to win at least two of the upcoming three matches.
"After the end of three home games, we would know where we are. We want to get at least two wins if not all three,” said the 41-year-old South Australia-born.
“We just got to play good cricket. We have played good cricket in patches. Run rate is positive. We just lost close matches, which is frustrating as a coach some times. But the guys are working hard. We just got to fine tune a few things," he stressed.
Responding to a question about his team’s consistency, Lehman conceded that the team lacked consistency.
The Australian said that they have an accurate game plan and a good combination of players but proper execution of the game plan is what’s lacking.
