Deccan v Punjab - Deccan Chargers in command - 198/2 - First innings report
Deccan Chargers have posted a mighty total of 198 for 2 against Kings XI Punjab in the first innings of the 67th Indian Premier League match at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Himachal-Pradesh-c791 Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Deccan’s opening batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Dhawan-c2392 and Ravi Teja, provided their team with a fantastic start with a thrilling partnership of 131 runs, which eventually helped Chargers reach a formidable total of 198 in the allotted quota of 20 overs.
Earlier in the day, Punjab’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779,
started attacking from the very first ball of the game.
Ravi and Dhawan batted skillfully, nudging the ball around for singles and doubles without wasting any opportunity to hit the poor deliveries out of the park.
The Punjabi bowlers tried everything to steal a wicket but the fielders didn’t support them. The Kings were sloppy in the field as they dropped Ravi on four occasions.

the end of the innings.
In Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 bowling, Valthaty was the pick of the bowlers with his impressive figures of 1/24 in four overs.
While http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330 dismissed Duminy, no other bowler was able to pick up a wicket. Along with a poor effort in the field, the Kings were also not impressive in the bowling, giving away 16 extras including eight wides.
Gilchrist and men now need 199 runs to win, with a run-rate of almost 10 runs per over.
