It will not be the end of the world.  12/21/12 is Winter Solstice.  It also happens to be the end date of the Mayan Calendar, however, the Mayans did not believe this would be the end of the world.  The Mayans knew this was the end of the age, and the beginning of the age of Aquarious (each new age, or Baktun i believe its called, is a period of about 26,000 years).  Please visit 13moon.com and read about the prophecy of 2012 and the great Mayan prophet Pacal Votan, who foretold of a period of great disaster and the corruption of man in the few years before 2012 (think of the current state of the world).  12/21/12 is the beginning of a new age for life on earth, a new conciousness and new knowledge of the world, but it's not supposed to happen overnight or in an instance, its going to take tim.  12/21/12 is just the start date of the new age.  You have nothing to be afraid of, instead, you should be looking forward to it.

Why are you worried about a prediction by a religious system that has been destroyed now about 3 centuries? If their "foreknowledge" couldn't protect their people, why would you look to their system and let affect your life?

Now, consider that the Bible warns about a coming day of Judgment by God. Are you worried about that? That religious system is very much alive and active.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.
