Question:

Decent Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale?

Hi there,

We're off to Fort Lauderdale in September and want to get some recommendations for pretty decent restaurants in the city please.

We're not quite "no expense spared" but don't mind paying maybe $300 for a really good meal and a few drinks. We have pretty eclectic tastes, so the more interesting the better!

Thanks in advance

  1. If it's still there, Burt and Jack's at Port Everglades had a stellar reputation. You might want to ask the concierge at your hotel.

  2. The Rustic Inn off Griffith near I-95 is old style Florida seafood.  Great crab.

  3. Chima's on Las Olas.  It is an Brazilian Steakhouse.  I have sent many people there and not a single person has not liked it.  Very nice atmosphere.

  4. My husband's absolute favorite eclectic place is Canyon's.  Its amazing southwestern style food, and the prickly pear martini is to die for.  Its also cozy and romantic with pretty good service.

  5. dude the daily grill at calvary chapel fort lauderdale same food as houstons and ruths chris cheaper price

  6. Here are a few excellent choices-

    Johnny V's on Las Olas

    Canyon on fort lauderdale beach

Big City Tavern on Las Olas

    Glanaga in Wilton Manors

  7. There are a few great eclectic places in Hollywood/Ft.Lauderdale.  Here are some:

    - La Bonne Creperie on Las Olas Blvd.  About 50 different types of crepes. Fabulous sangria and wines.  Delicious food and very fresh- made to order.  Huge portions.  Good prices.

    - Islamorada- It's a fresh seafood restaurant adjacent to Outdoor World and the International gaming and fishing association museum.  Very fresh seafood, cool atmosphere- fun shop to browse in. If you go during the day, you can sit outside and you'll see fish, iguanas, birds, etc. Also huge fish tanks in the store and restaurant.

    - For a night out of dancing and good music and food, Mangos on Las Olas is fun.

Lots of smaller, cafe type restaurants and wine bars on Las Olas Blvd. That's where most of the action is happening. There are several places along the beach, but many of them are tourist traps, so be careful of those.

If you want a fancy place, kind of pricey but not too bad, but great atmosphere (right on the intracoastal), you can go to Charley's Crab.  Good food and great views if you sit outside.

Houston's is also on the intracoastal.  Great steaks- freshly made food.

If you go about 15 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale to Deerfield, there's a place right on the Intracoastal called The Cove. Fabulous seafood- awesome views both inside and out.

    Good luck and enjoy!

  8. The best one is Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. A little pricey, but a small price to pay for the best steak in the world.
