Question:

Decent and affordable places to stay in London?

My friend and I are taking a trip to London in early May of 2009. We would like to find an affordable place to stay that is decent (i.e. clean, private bathroom with a shower). It doesn't have to be fabulous, as I know London is pricy, but just something that isn't really creepy, unkempt, or awful. It would be a major plus if it were close to tube access. We're open to sharing a room (that's called a "twin" right?), but two singles would be even better. Thanks in advance for the advice!! :)

  1. Strand Palace Hotel is a large hotel in central London, that has affordable rooms including some singles for 85 GBP. I should warn you that the singles are like barracks. It would be cheaper and better to share a twin. The advantage of this hotel is location. You can walk to almost anything. You are surrounded by super expensive hotels. I would recommend this place.

Imperial Hotels are some of the best known budget hotels. They are in a neighborhood known as Bloomsbury where the British museum is located. It's not as convenient and you will have to get on the tube a lot, but it is considerably cheaper.

  2. yooooo whats up..

actually me and my buddy were in London in june for a few nights and we paid like 120 for each night !!! London isn't cheap by the way.

ummm I forgot what the hotel name is sorry ! but my uncle went to london a few hours ago and he is staying at a hotel in frensington (thats near city center) for 115 $, transportation is relly good in London I'm sure u can find cheap and nice hotels in london !

    orbitz.com

    travelocity.com

or check yahoo travel good luck and enjoy London it's a really really nice city, prittiest in the world so have fun !

and u're thinking may 2009 is so far on from now, I know that feeling, trsut me the time wil flyyyyy by and when u'r in London it will take forever ! so it is really worth the wait, good luck.

  3. Try renting an apartment if you are there for a week or so. Just search on Google. It normally works out cheaper, more privacy, save on breakfast (they come with kitchetttes) and more free space than a hotel room. Just make sure you are taking one near city centre (although this is not very important as London is a very well connected city).

  4. try hostel.com

if you're young and don't want to spend much

    a hostel you should in.
