Decibel range question?

is 130 dbs any good if your running 2 12 inch subs off of a 600 watt amp? it is a 4 channel amp so i am only pushing 300 watts out of the amp. 300 watts good if it gets 130 decibles?

  1. Considering that permanent hearing damage can start at 90 dB, anything above that is bad, health-wise.


  2. Not an answer to your question, just a bit for your interest.

    The plural of dB is still dB.  We don't talk about dBs.

    Anything after 'dB' is considered to be the unit of reference to which the figure is related.

    For example:  dBW  is dB greater than 1 watt,  dBm  is dB greater than 1 milliwatt, dB(A) is dB above the threshold of hearing.
