Deciding on strong, simple but unique boy name.?

Question

Last name Schmidt.

We like: Gavin, Cade, Hudson, Pierce, Reed, Cope, Tate, Cohen or Grant.

What do you like best?? What do you like least?? I appreciate the help! if you have other suggestions let me know, but i mostly want to get a rating of these names in the order you like (or dislike!)

No to Cade, Pierce, Reed, Cope, Tate and Grant. Why? Because they are all 1 syllable names and so is your surname Schmidt.

First and last name should always have a different number of syllables, sounds much better. 1 and 1 is really choppy. You should find a name with 2, or better 3 and more syllables and maybe use one of the above as middle names instead.

(I actually do love the names Reed and Tate, just not with your name.)

Now for the rest: Cohen is more of a last name and I'm not fond of Hudson (reminds me of that movie Hudson Hawk). Gavin is really nice, though. :)

Pierce- I love it too

Gavin- I really love this one too, but common

Reed- I like it

Grant- I like it

Cade- OK

Tate- OK

Cohen- not my fave

With the last name I like Grant the best.  Reed Schmidt doesnt have as good as a right.  I love Tate, but not as much with the last name.
