  1. Don't worry about the furniture, for starters.  What colors do you like?  I always recommend starting with an inspiration piece ~ like a throw pillow, a fabric swatch, a scarf ~ anything that has colors in a combination that you love, love, love.  Use the inspiration piece for your color palette.

For example, maybe you like bright, contemporary colors.

Painting your walls in either the blue or green colors would be beautiful!  Using accents in red would really 'pop,' too.

Perhaps you want to do something more romantic.

In this case, you can choose any color for the walls (like light pink) and do your bedding in black/white.  Include lace and ruffles in accessories, and you're good to go!

You might find inspiration in neckties or scarves.  Check out consignment or thrift stores for ideas.  You may be able to make something yourself.

  2. I love earth tones, dark and light browns, beige, yellow, cream colors.  That could work also.

  3. the wood will work together no matter what after all not all the trees in the forest match !

Do you have fabric in the room? what are the colours in it ,if you post a picture I would be able to help you better.

  4. Hi Moglai.. Yes.. I do have good taste..

most any colour will go with your maple furniture .. chose one you like to have as your theme colour for the walls then contrast with another colour for fabrics & bedding etc.

Have fun with it.. if you choose it yourself it is much more personal to you & it will be a place where you know you can go to relax & unwind

  5. I'd like to think so, but everyone has their own version of taste don't they?. Maybe a dark, rich colour on the walls (i'e puple, midnight blue) to set off the colour of the wood.

  6. see the blinds in the first picture?? I would do a light colored scheme. whites, light blues, greens, maybe pinks. I would go with a white comforter and i think It would suggest a very calming effect not to mention feel like you're in another place.   But if  you're looking for a darker color, I'd go with the second one. browns...maybe a darker red, here and there. and maybe notice the floor?? it wouldn't be hard to do that with masking tape. Good luck!

  7. hi ..maple wood is  fabulous and bright wood. The best way to bring out its beauty is using a colour scheme like the family of browns thus-dark rich browns into the creams maybe rich brown flock pattern with a cream base backround, you can get away two walls dark and two bright on the light coloured flooring. The brightness of the wood can really go with any colour scheme purple into pinks ,greens etc.Whatever you choose i suggest to keep the room bright with a light range of colour e.g light green because the flooring will look spacious let the rest of the room continue in this spacious feel.
