Decorating a teen guy's room?

Question

I'm fourteen years old & moving into another place and previously my rooms have always been dull or too mature like a 40 year-old man's bedroom. My mom is FINALLY lettin me put posters up.

Anyway, I need advice like what to..Decorate, I guess? I dunno. Like what can I do to add an extra something to make it different from everyone else's room?

It really depends on what you are into doing.  My son at that age was into skateboarding, so we bought some posters with that theme.  I found some really cool silver wallpaper that looked like the metal diamond print that you see on truck workboxes, etc. and put that on the bottom half of the wall.  I painted the top half navy blue (his favorite color at the time) and we used "caution tape" all around the border between the two.  It turned out really cool!!    Of course, if you're not allowed to paint or whatever, then you could still use caution tape (it's not sticky, so you just use staples here & there to hold it up) & posters - just tilt the posters so they're not all straight & boring.  Look around for some metal road signs & old license plates - those look cool on the walls too.  Use your imagination & think outside of the box - have fun with it!

definatly should put up pictures. pick a central theme color...like black (because it will go with your walls and carpet) or something else and get a bed spread that is that color and a lap, make it simple yet unique

well, fill it with stuff you like. Your posters, and pick out some cool furniture that you like!
