I'm a teenager and it's been quite some time since i've decorated my room. I really want to change it to something more lively, more bright though i havent decided on the colors yet. My main problem is that I love taking pictures of friends, surroundings, buildings, etc and i really want to display them somehow in my room. RIght now, I've filled one wall with photos. It's more like a collage but i wnat to change it up. What are some good colors that i could use in the room (not blue, please!) and how can i display the mass amount of photos i have? One idea of mine was to paint the room one color (such as purple), create a border around the wall of another color (such as yellow) and have these lines running from top to bottom in like a zig zag type thing. in these lines, i would put up the pictures but my sister says that its a stupid idea. please help!

  1. I love the idea of painting a frame around a wall when you are using it to display photos, its very cool, as for how to display the pics, rather than blue tac them, maybe you could try some of these ideas, I use this first one on the wall of our hallway for the kids art work, its great cause they can add their latest masterpiece whenever they want... http://www.flickr.com/photos/alttext/298...

they have used hooks but I got these clips http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/produc...  from ikea ($5 for 24 clips ) and just used a piece of fishing line and small eyelet screws

Then there is this one using old cd cases (there is another idea for them that I will look for in a second...) which looks fantastic but looks best if photos are square and most aren't

this is the other one, using cd cases made into a box that you can make into a tower... http://www.instructables.com/id/Compact-...

You could also use magnetic paint and use magnets to attach your pics to walls again making them easy to move

Last idea is to use a mobile have a look at these ones... http://www.hangingmobilegallery.com/serv...

Thats it, you may use none of those ideas but your frame painting will rock and its great that you are such a keen photographer, enjoy your art!!

  2. You should paint the walls all one color, except for one wall, which you can reserve for your photos. The best way to show off your pictures is hang ribbon that matches your room and put your favorites on little clothespins. Your idea isn't stupid, it would actually be really creative and original, so if that is what you want to do, try it! Paint could always be changed. Just keep in mind would it be easy to put pictures up there and change them?

Don't try and shellac or permanently glue your pictuers to the wall! My cousin did this as well as writing with permanent marker and it didn't come off! Use non-permanent methods to stick them to the wall.

A nice bedspread is key to a great bedroom, but you may want to stick with a plainer one in a contrasting color to your wall. You want your photos to be the focus.

Something that might be really special in your room is

You could turn your favorite photo into a special pillow for your room!
