  1. You would need a large stage with seats (or boards to look like seats). Lots of costumes (maybe on the wall). Puppets (large colorful ones hanging from the cieling).Use brilliant royal colors like Purple and Maroon, with gold. Curtains that draw up, just like a theatre. Lighting definately. Pictures in frames of plays from the 1950s. Popcorn tubs used for cubbies. Does any of this sound cool? i like the idea. Kindergardeners are full of inspirational drama!

  2. one of the teachers  the school where i work has her whole room done in the theme of BELLE  ,curtains  wall decor ,all mdae by her own hands ,she does not ever go and buy already made theme items  she makes them herself ,sewing ,arts and crafts, she is real creative BELL. AND ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST CHARACTERS LOOK GOOD. SHE TEACHES 2ND GRADE.

  3. If she wants a small theater then she could set up a small puppet show area.  This way she can easily change from one play to another.  The children can make the character puppets, either hand puppets or ones on sticks.  If the theater is always up then the children can play by themselves, this allows them creative thinking. There is even a website for classes making plays.

  4. You could make spot lights out of large empty coffee cans - just paint the lids yellow and the cans black.

Hang red curtains from the ceiling against one of the walls.

Line the chairs up in rows so that it looks like audience seating.

Bring in lots of costumes or ask the children to bring their own.

Bring in a ticket roll so that the kids can buy and sell theater tickets. Or, you can always make your own on the computer.

Use a refrigerator box. The kids will love climbing in and out of it and pretending it's a rocket ship, car, fort, house, etc. Let their imaginations run wild! Or, you can cut some of it out to put on puppet shows.

Sounds like fun! I'm sure the kids will have a great time
