Decorating help I have bought a fawn coloured shaggy pile carpet?

Although you do not mention your preference in decor (modern, traditional, etc.), the current color trend is blue, taupe or beige, dark wood tone and satin nickel metals.  This would work for either decor.  Have fun!

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. I think a blue-green like "hazel" (# 6471) would look gorgeous with the fawn carpet.
