so i have a blank canvas!

I am into music, fashion, vintage, textiles and art.

in my bedroom i want it simple on the floor and walls, but then cluttered on shelves and desk.

i am going to have my old sewing machine on my drawers and probably a dressmakers manikin as i like to make clothes. so i will have like one corner with all my textiles stuff.

Any more ideas to make it ashionable/vintage.??????

Alos i want one of the walls to be like totally crazy with posters or drawings or just like painted on words.

  1. try painting this on your wall

Music is Art.Fashion is Art. I live in a World of Music and Fashion.

    So this World is Art!

  2. Let me suggest checking Craigslist in your area for free items and furniture.  I have found a lot of vintage items that didn't need a lot of work on there.

Also try garage sales, Great deals there as well.

  3. go to ikea store they have nice display  over there ,if no go to homedepot or lows they have some magazines which have how to decorate

  4. posters of your fav bands, personal accents, and things hanging from your ceiling:D

  5. go to hgtv.com for more color ideas ^_^ good luck i no it will look nice

  6. get some magizines with posters in it then take them out and hang them up

  7. For the crazy wall, you can buy a big roll of paper in any color you want and tape it up on to the entire wall, so that you can write and draw whatever you want on it, but then take it down when you get tired of it without having to re-paint the walls. If you cut and tape the paper properly, it can look very much like the wall is just painted a solid color (as opposed to looking like there's messy construction paper hanging on it.

What kind of floors do you have? If it's hardwood, leave the floors bare. Wood floors can be very chic if they are in good condition. If you have carpeting, make sure the rug goes well with your bedding (or at least that they don't clash).

For bedding, look at places like Ikea and Target to find quilts, duvet covers, and sheets that look timeless--just two or three colors is best, and simple patterns always look good (try small floral prints or thin stripes). Don't be afraid to mix patterns, as long as the colors go well together.

As for colors, French blue and creme always look good--a creme-colored paint is a bit more interesting than white, and French blue accents (lamp shades, mirror frames, area rugs, chairs, bedding, curtains, etc. are truly lovely.

  8. A really good idea is to get a shelf and put 3 of your fav items on it that have really great pattern to them.  Ex: a hat, colorful box, or a jar of buttons.  Another great idea is to get a coat rack and hang a bunch of hats on it.

  10. For colours I would go for stone/vintage browns and dusky pinks, maybe a bit of duck egg blue chucked in there.

I love the idea of the chalkboard paint as well!

Look at this gorgeous wallpaper for one of your feature walls:

Or why not wallpaper one wall with your favourite images from fashion mags (Use wallpaper paste not blue tack or pins as this is so tacky!).

Or if you want the wall painted plain you could decorate them with say 3 highly decorative vintage dresses hanging symmetrically along the wall. You could hand them off some vintage style hooks like these:

    or

And then you can accessorise with old bird cages (from flea markets) which you could put a pair of vintage shoes in. Old perfume bottles, vintage hat boxes, mannequins like you mentioned:

I would buy an old/antique style shelving unit which you can fill with lots of lovely clutter, something like this:

If you love sewing why not make your own curtains - I am sure if you are a creative person you have lots of fab ideas for them!

Hope this gives you a little inspiration!

  13. Wow, that's hard...my room is based on Old fashion french, and trying to go vintage....why don't you get some old pieces of furniture and just try to stay in the browns, oranges, and golds for the colors, and what you could do is (depending on the theme) just go to a poster shop, or just print some of your own and hang them up on your wall, vintage isint rally crazy (unless your doung it 60's or 70's) so just try to keep it plain and simple, hope this helps :)
