Ok I have all these great ideas on how to decorate my room but I can't seem to pull it together. Here's what I want and don't want.

I want my room to be like my "retreat" my own little world.

I don't want it to be really girly

I don't want pink walls

I want it to be like me

I want it to be versatile but don't want my walls to be neutral

I want a "lounging corner" where I can relax and read and listen to music and just chill after a long day

No purple that's what I have right now and need a change tho its pretty

I want it to be funky in a modern and not kiddish sort of way

I am pretty athletic, love soccer and running, pretty much a t-shirt and chucks kind of girl, love music, and am very outgoing and "bubbly' I have been told lol...Oh I'm in 9th grade by the way.

OK so I have two Ideas on paint that I really like

- A green black and white color scheme, like this one but I don't like the vintage feel of it. http://ratemyspace.hgtv.com/snc/ViewItem.aspx?pguid=6db6be3f-1720-4ba3-a081-999042c09b6b&itemguid=77b7df7f-4d3f-4682-9924-d5d6ee8c81b7

- An aqua blue silver and white color scheme (kinda reminds me of a spa) like this one http://ratemyspace.hgtv.com/snc/ViewItem.aspx?pguid=6db6be3f-1720-4ba3-a081-999042c09b6b&itemguid=378b07f5-3083-4a98-93e2-f878aca5e2a7

Any ideas on other color schemes and decorations?

No links to hgtv or teens themes or anything like that please! I've already checked out practically every decorating sight out there. I just want ideas from you. Thanks in advance! -Daz

  1. Send me an e-mail with exactly what you have written above......I am an interior designer and would love to help you. I just don't have time right now to write down ideas for you. My e-mail is andeahenning@yahoo.com.

When you send the e-mail I will conceptualize some ideas for you and send it back to your e-mail address. Please write in Subject box: Interior ideas from Yahoo answers.

  2. http://ratemyspace.hgtv.com/snc/ViewItem...

    didnt work

  3. Get a soccer poster from http://www.viewposters.com

  4. I suggest using maroon on the walls and add some gold lights on  the wall. I suggest using antiques as they are always 'in fashion'. When we first bought our house we wanted modern and believe me after four years it was looking off!

Now I changed to antique style. Every one tells me the house is beautiful and makes all the winters cozy!!

  5. Hey, for some reason the second link isn't working out for me. But I LOVE the first room. The bright color on the walls contrasting with the black and white looks really cool. But since you're still pretty young I understand if you don't like the vintage look just yet. It really reminds me of something like this (kinda same style, color wall going on:)

I know you said no HGTV links: but i think this is something that you should go for: because it's still a green wall but no girly stuff/not too kiddish but pretty teen-ish.

I really like how the room also has a "lounge area" like the one you wanted. I also think green makes the room stand out and it makes it look bigger & brighter. Now when it comes to ideas for you: If you like music and soccer, why not find paintings or cool collages that signify music or sports? If you're into music, you can check these out:

    for sports:

  6. Id go with the first one. Make it NOT look retro by using modern looking furnishings. Look for acrylic chairs and table in black and a funky modern black and white abstract painting. Use lots of abstracts. Like tall vases but don't use flowers ...look in places like AC Moore or Michael's or other craft stores for decor ideas.
