Decorating question?

So, my apartment is pretty modern. Wood floors, clean white walls, etc. But I have this hallway that connects all of the rooms - and it's dreadful. It has brown shag carpeting and brown wood paneling all the way down the hall. It is so dark and depressing and very 70's. I can't rip up the carpeting and it would be difficult to paint. Any ideas on brightening it up? Or should I just suck it up and do the hustle?

Is there any lighting in the hall?If there is maybe you can put in brighter lights & some colorful pictures on the wall.Even lay down some hall way rug in a lighter color on top of the shaggy carpet.

find a nice long hallway carpet and u can paint over the panels with a cream color or something...its hard to tell you what you can do when i don't know exactly what it looks like cuz i can't see it...but there is always soemthing that can be done...

Your apartment is your home, it should reflect you. Your have a couple choices to "livin it up", first you can you walls some color like blue, green, yellow, and if you want cozy red. You can also put up some pretty pictures all over the hall as well.
