Question:

Decorative Beads?

I am currently searching for small beads to use as embellishment on a blouse that I am having made. The centre panel is to be smocked using the beads. The blouse is to be worn as part of a wedding outfit.

Can anyone please suggest the kind of beads that would be most suitable, and also an online source for purchase?

Thank you in advance.

  1. I would think that you would want to use seed beads or something similar they can also be called Rocailles and bugle beads may work for you as well.

I don't know of any stores but I know that Beadworks has an online store for the UK that could be helpful for you.  The site looks very similar to the one I use in the US and I have been tot their stores, so I am not sure if it is the same company or not.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Yes - go to beadworks.  I think it is the site of the shop in Covent Garden (the Bead Shop, 21a Tower Street).  Also www.beads.co.uk (based in Southport).  www.ejrbeads.co.uk/shop.  Pandorion in Colchester.  And www.spangles4beads.co.uk (the owner of this site is a leading light of the Bead Society of Great Britain).

  3. Try one of the eBay shops.
