Decoupage question...?

I am looking to decoupage some Eiffel Tower pictures onto a light switch plate. Can I use any type of paper and just a plain switch plate? I found some already done online, but they don't have them for the switch plate that I need. I MUST have an Eiffel Tower switch plate! Thanks!!

I want something that looks like this one...

  1. You could definitely do that. Very cool! Definitely spray with a little clear spray paint so it doesn't smear on you when you glue it to the plate. Scuff the plate with a little sand paper so the glue adheres well. Then make sure you add at least 3 layers of polyurethane to protect the image.

    Very cool idea!

  3. Just print out the pic you want to use onto regular printer paper, spray it with clear acrylic spray paint (if you apply the decoupage glue right over the pic the ink WILL run)  I use 2 coats at least.  Then cut it to fit your lightswitch (any one will do, you could just take the one off the wall you have now)  then use your decoupage glue and seal it on.
