Question:

Decreasing the file size of pictures

I recently bought a newer digital camera, and because of this I am taking A LOT more pictures. I'm afraid I'm going to slow down my computer because of all the pictures I upload and store on it. Every year I take my pictures and put them on blank CD's and delete them off my camera. I'm wondering is there anyway I can shrink the file size of the pictures so while they're on my computer for that one year span, they won't take up QUITE as much space (and so I can store more on one CD)? If so, HOW?

  1. You need to reduce the photo's resolution. You can use this free program to apply this to multiple files at a time: http://www.xemico.com/photogadget/freewa...

There may also be a setting on your camera that you can change so that it takes pictures in a lower resolution as well.

You can also reduce the quality of the photo, but I don't know of a free program that does this and it's generally not desirable because the picture does not look as good anymore.

  2. i think you go to downoad this manager and there you shirnk it ok www.mypictures/downloadsucker/haha
