  1. sure why not as long as it isint one of those stupid orange rectangle types

Get a neoprene ski life jacket and you'll look good and be safe.

  2. Well, if you're going on a boat or in open water... then YES you definitely should

    A lifeguard's perspective:

However, if you're going to the neighborhood pool, use your best judgement and stay in the shallow end. If you're not sure where the pool gets too deep for your comfort, walk along the deck and pick a boundary area that you will definitely stay in.

Also, you should get yourself some private swim lessons... just for safety. I've helped many kids [and adults] overcome fear of deep water, by building necessary swim confidence in shallow water. Trust me, you should know how to swim for safety... like if you fell in a lake one day.

But for now, honestly, if you're going to a pool: study the facility and know where the deep end starts, set your boundaries, and stay shallow. If you wear a lifejacket, not only will you subject yourself to humiliation from your peers [teenagers are cruel], but you might get yelled at by a lifeguard anyway, because in most facilities, you're supposed to be accompanied by an adult if you're a child who can't swim who's using a floatation device.

  3. well if u don't feel comfortable in deep water then u should wear one with no doubt. or just don't go in really deep water i guess. =D good luck!
