Deer flys how do I get rid of them in my yard?

I cant go outside without getting bite all up by them.Please help..

I don't know why it works but hang some plastic bags ( like sandwich bags or ziplocks) with water in them near the patio or area you are.  

You can also buy or make a fly-catcher.  ANy jar or bowl. You put raw meat in it.  Then put a funnel into it.  THe flies can climb down the funnel to enter. They try to fly out but they can't fly straight up and they have to go straight up to get out of the funnel.  This doesn't stop the flies from bothering you but it makes you feel better to see them dying by the hundreds.

THen winter comes and the flies are gone. But so is the nice weather.
