how do you attract deer in the summer and how do you bait for them

Baiting them in is not so hard you could get a deer feeder and set it for a certain time and when the deer get used to that time be there and get it. But the best way to get one in the summer is to scout and hunt the trails that they use.

There are two things that you need to do- get a 50 lb bag of salt from the feed store (will cost less then $6 ) and put it out on any rotten log or stump in the area- then find a low spot in the ground that will hold water for a day or so after it rains and put the rest in there-they will eat the rotten wood that you put the salt on the first week or so after it has rained on it, but the low spot on the ground , will not be messed with the first year- close to the salt that you put out, take a forty lb bag of corn and scatter it on the ground- it may take the deer a week or so to find it, but when they do, they will be coming to it regularly, usually about 20 minutes before dark. You will have to put out corn at least once a week after they find it. Good luck!

If you use a mineral or salt l**k along with a feeder it will help bring them in and keep them coming back. it would also help to plant a food plot.

Deer can't pass up the sight of a big pile of corn! I've been baiting them behind my mother's house so she can watch them in the evenings for years.. Best time to watch for them is about 15-20 minutes before it is dark. You won't see them the first day you spread corn either, might have to put out a few cup fulls of corn across an area for a couple weeks before they find it, but when they do, they will come back about every day to look for it.

In the summertime I use recleaned corn mixed with roasted soybean it's high in protien and helps grow big healthy deer with big racks if you are wanting quality deer you need to be feeding year round but especially right now the does have just had thier babies for the season and they are feeding up to 4 times a day and the bucks are growing their antlers this time of year so lots or protien and food are necessary right now corn and soybean work great with a spinner feeder with a timer feeding at 7 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon
