  1. Try using HTTPS or specify port 8080 as follows:

    https://defaultgateway/

    http://defaultgateway:8080/

Or if it's a home network try one of these:

    http://192.168.0.1

    http://192.168.1.1

    http://192.168.2.1

Otherwise call the manufacturer or read the manual.

  2. look up the manual for you router on the manufacture's website and it will tell you how to log into the router

  3. Try logging on your gateway using a different port (i.e.: 8080), and/or using https

  4. Is this YOUR network and YOUR router or is it a public router or your ISP?

Many many, public wireless and some wired "gateways" use a Linux Based Server (or could be windows) for user validation, meaning the router/gateway is a server not just a simple home router. SO when you enter the "gateway" address, you may well get an HTTP page or an apache server page if the gateway wasn't fully setup properly.

Many ISP's also use a server on or for the gateway.

If this is your Home system, it means you have an Apache Server that is using the gateway address as its own! OOPS not a good configuration! Turn off the server and try again!

  5. the Ip router is not the same as the gateway( not abit), to logon to your router try  : 192.168.1.1  or   myrouter     ( check the manufacturer)

usually   "admin" is used as username and password
