King, despite having a chronic knee problem, has featured in 16 English Premier League fixtures in the season where the Spurs are third on the Premier League table. He revealed he believes it was all due to Redknapp’s man management skills that had helped
Tottenham Hotspur.
The English defender was certain Tottenham Hotspur would go on to secure a top three finish in the English Premier League as long as Redknapp continued on as the manager. He believed it was because of Redknapp that the Spurs had done well in the current
season.
King said while speaking to reporters:
“Harry made an instant impact on the club and the players. We've gone from strength to strength each year - he just has this aura about him.
We're in a really good position this season and it's the first time most of us have been associated with a chance of winning the League. It's been exciting.”
According to King the Spurs were having a fantastic season after a poor start and most of it was due to the manager and his hard work in building a decent team. The central defender believed it was Redknapp’s experience in the Premier League which had given
him the advantage this season.
He revealed:
“The manager just understands the Premier League. He understands the players needed to succeed. In the past, with foreign managers coming in, I don't think they understood how tough the Premier League is week in, week out.”
With the season drawing to a close, King felt the team had to thank Redknapp for all his efforts in the Premier League which had given Tottenham Hotspur hopes of a top three finish. If the Spurs finish in the top three then they will qualify for the UEFA
Champions League football next term.
King continued:
“Harry has put together a great group of players, great characters. We all get on well and he gives us that freedom to play.”
