Defender Rafinha admits he always wanted to play for Bayern Munich- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich right-back Rafinha has admitted that he had always dreamed of playing for the Bavarian giants. He insisted that he was close to join the club two years ago but is delighted that the move has gone through in this summer’s
transfer window.
The player claimed that he had no qualms whatsoever to accept the offer from the German giants as it is one of the best clubs in the world.
Rafinha joined Jupp Heynckes’ side from Italian club Genoa this summer for an estimated fee of 5.5 million Euros, signing a three-year contract. The Brazilian has impressed in the few games he has played for the Bavarians this
season as the club has one of the best defensive records in Europe for this season.
The Brazilian international admitted that it was always his dream to play for a club like Bayern Munich sometime in his career. He insisted that he did not have to think a lot after the offer was made to him as he was not having
the best of times in the Serie A with Genoa.
“Playing for Bayern at some point was always one of my biggest dreams. I came close to joining two years ago, but it finally worked out this summer. I didn't have to think long about the offer. I'm delighted to be at a club which
I rate as one of the five best in the world,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Schalke player admitted that he wants to win trophies with Bayern. He stated that it is the club’s primary goal this season to win the Bundesliga and do well in the UEFA Champions League. He wants to contribute to the
success of the club in any way.
“You only make history if you win trophies, and that is our goal here at Bayern. I hope I can continue to deliver the goods and contribute to our success as a club,” he concluded.
Rafinha has so far made six Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich and is yet to score his first goal.
