Defenseman Zach Bogosian to miss ice hockey for 4-6 months after the surgery: Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg Jets, a professional ice hockey team that plays in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL), have announced that their defenseman Zach Bogosian will remain out for 4-6 months after the surgery.
The announcement was made by Kevin Cheveldayoff, the general manager of Winnipeg Jets that Bogosian has been suggested to stay out of play for next 4-6 months as it has been suggested by Dr. Thomas Graham.
Dr. Thomas Graham is the person who had performed the surgery on Bogosian and according to Winnipeg Jets’ head physician, the surgery was successful and the player needs that time to recover and repair the ligament in his right wrist.
The 42-year-old general manager of Jets was very happy to announce that surgery was successfully done, as he said,
"We are pleased the procedure on Zach's right wrist was successful this morning”.
According to Cheveldayoff, this wrist injury had been causing problem for the 22 year’s old player and he was not able to give his best. This injury had been causing trouble for him since he was in Atlanta and made him miss few matches as well, as he added,
“This wrist has been an issue which has troubled him for the past couple of seasons dating back to his time in Atlanta and forced him to miss games with the Jets last season”.
The former ice hockey defenseman who played in some minor leagues, was disappointed that they had lost the player but they are hoping for him to make a comeback soon by recovering as early as possible.
“While we are disappointed Zach will be out for an extended period of time, we look forward to getting him to Winnipeg to begin his rehab with our training staff and getting him back on the ice as soon as possible," Cheveldayoff said.
Bogosian, the Massena, New York native was a main player of Winnipeg’s team last season. He also played three seasons for Atlanta Thrashers, before signing a two year’s contract with Winnipeg Jets last season for $5 million. One of the year of his contract
is already gone so Jets would be looking to avail his services as soon as possible.
