Defenseman of Washington Capitals’ John Carlson not concerned if he would sign a new deal or not
John Carlson, an American professional ice hockey player, who has played last three seasons for Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference of National Hockey League, is not worried if he would be offered another contract or not.
Carlson had signed his first contract four years back with London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and went on to play for Washington Capitals in the following season.
After a workout with his team-mates at Kettler Capitals Iceplex (KCI) on the ice, Carlson made it clear that his job is just to play, not getting worried about his signing, as he said,
“That’s not my job”.
The 22-year-old player confirmed that Washington Capitals is the city he loves, Washington Capitals in the team that he likes and he likes all of his team mates and the fans of the team. According to him, he cannot even imagine about playing with some other
team, as he said,
“I love Washington, I love being here. I stayed here for a lot of the summer. I like my teammates, I like the rink, I like the fans. I can’t imagine playing anywhere else.”
The Natick, Massachusetts born player started his hockey career with Indiana Ice in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2006-2007 season. He played just two matches in the opening season and could not score any goals or assists.
Second season was much better for him as he scored 12 goals, 31 assists, 43 total points in the 59 games that he played, a performance which earned him a call from London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He scored 16 goals, 60 assists and 76 total
points in 59 games there and impressed everybody.
The 6-foot-3, 218 pounder started the 2009-2010 season with Hershey Bears in the American Hockey league (AHL) and was called by Washington Capitals midway through the season, before he made his NHL debut in the same season.
Carlson did not miss a single game in the next two seasons as he scored seven goals, 30 assists, 37 total points in 2010-2011 season and nine goals, 23 assists for total of 32 points in 2011-2012 season.
