Defensive driving validity?

I took a defensive driving class in Jan of 2008 for a citation from Dec 07. I got a citation today. Will I be able to take another defensive driving class to offset the new citation? Or will the class be valid for the new citation?

  1. Depends on the state

My state lets you take the 4 hour class only once in a year - but you can take the 8 hour course for a 2nd citation.

If you are under 21 w/ a Graduated drivers license - that does not apply.  Each state is different.

  2. Texas every 12 months, CA every 18 months. You'll have to ask your court to find out if they'll let you take it again. Sometimes, even if you're not past the required waiting period, the court will make an exception and allow you to take defensive driving. Since you're calling it "defensive driving," I would guess you're in Texas. In that case you probably would not be able to take it again. If you do, however, go to http://www.getdefensive.com. They're easy and good.

  3. Yeah since you took that Defensive Driving Course in Jan for the Dec. ticket, then you would have to ask the judge if you can take another course.  I highly doubt they will let you.  Usually you can only attend traffic school once in 12-18 months.  Quit Driving all crazy!

this is a good online traffic school: http://www.gototrafficschool.com

or here is a fun driving game to practice your skills which you obviously need to do!
