Defiant Carlo Ancelotti proud of Blues record – Premier League update
Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is living the life of a man who fears every phone call and every knock on the door, as he waits the decision on whether or not he will be given the axe by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Ancelotti has insisted that he will
not beg for his job and has left the decision to the owner. He said that he is proud of his team’s performance and would go out with his head held high if he is asked to leave Stamford Bridge.
The writing does look to be on the wall as Ancelotti is expected to meet the club management and the owner after the final league game of the season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 ending their worst season under
Abramovich. This is the first time Blues have not managed to win any silverware and it is sure not to go down too well with the owner.
The fact that Ancelotti led Chelsea to their first ever double in his very first season may not count for much now.
Ancelotti though is not concerned and believes that his performance with the team speaks for itself, and he does not have to explain himself. He said that he will not be making any pleads to owner Abramovich, Chief Executive Ron Gourlay or Chairman Bruce
Buck.
The embattled manager said, "I don't want to 'fight' to keep my job, The club have to judge two years of my job. If they think that my job was good for this club, I will stay. If they think that my job was not so good, I will have to go."
Carlo Ancelotti, who won the Champions League and Italian League title twice with his former club AC Milan, said that he is not desperate to hold on to the job at Chelsea and is glad that it is not his own call at the end of the day.
The Italian said that he loves everything about Chelsea and has enjoyed his time there so far. He went on to say that he enjoys a great relationship with the players and the fans and that is why he would love to carry on at Chelsea. The former AC Milan boss
said that the staff working alongside him is very honest and hard working and that is why as a team they have been able to work so hard for the squad.
Despite all the statements by Ancelotti, the fact remains that the final decision does rest with the owner, Roman Abramovich. If history is anything to go by, he will give Ancelotti his marching orders. Jose Mourinho and Luis Felipe Scolari know that one
thing that Abramovich cannot tolerate is losing out on the Premier League crown. In the case of Ancelotti, winning in Europe was a big priority and that dream was also not fulfilled this season. No matter how much Carlo Ancelotti tries to portray that he is
not bothered, rest assured he will be waiting with anxiety to know the truth about his future at Chelsea.
