  1. Despite what half the posters above me are talking about, since you posted in psychology, I'm going to assume you don't really care about the chemical concentration of a solution.

Concentration is the process of focusing your mind on a specific thought or action, over a period of time. In this process, you usually ignore other stimuli around you.

When you concentrate in class, you are focusing on listening to the teacher and writing notes. When you concentrate on homework, your focusing on your math question and logically thinking through the steps it takes to complete it.

Simply put: Concentration is the act of focusing your mind on one thing.

  2. concentration means that fully perfectness in the work u do u will focus & ur mind is only on the work u doing.

  3. 1.the question is under psychology section hence given in gist :

             1. The act or process of concentrating, especially the fixing of close, undivided attention.

             2. The condition of being concentrated.

       2. Something that has been concentrated.

       3. Chemistry. The amount of a specified substance in a unit amount of another substance.

The ability to sustain attention and to focus on particular target stimuli. Concentration is an important skill for most sports activities. It can be learned and improved by specific training. Footballers and hockey players, for instance, play distraction games in which one person has to try to concentrate on performing a skill while others try to distract him or her.

A wide range of factors can affect concentration. Eating a heavy meal, very high levels of noise, and anxiety can reduce concentration. The morning is the best time to concentrate on complex tasks which rely on memory  It is difficult to sustain concentration at any time on tasks that are too simple, too complicated, or too repetitive.

once you know what your concentration span is for a specific activity, decide whether it is acceptable or whether you need to train yourself to expand

don't look for an easy answer in stimulants such as caffeine. They only have a short-term effect of making you feel alert, and too much or too long an exposure can have serious effects on your physical and mental health.

  4. focused

The ability to tune out what is not important and focus on the task at hand.

    What was the question?

  5. In chemistry, concentration is the measure of how much of a given substance there is mixed with another substance. This can apply to any sort of chemical mixture, but most frequently the concept is limited to homogeneous solutions, where it refers to the amount of solute in a substance.

To concentrate a solution, one must add more solute, or reduce the amount of solvent (for instance, by selective evaporation). By contrast, to dilute a solution, one must add more solvent, or reduce the amount of solute.

Unless two substances are fully miscible there exists a concentration at which no further solute will dissolve in a solution. At this point, the solution is said to be saturated. If additional solute is added to a saturated solution, it will not dissolve (except in certain circumstances, when supersaturation may occur). Instead, phase separation will occur, leading to either coexisting phases or a suspension. The point of saturation depends on many variables such as ambient temperature and the precise chemical nature of the solvent and solute.

    It can also mean :

    # [noun] strengthening the concentration (as of a solute in a mixture) by removing extraneous material

    # [noun]  bringing together military forces

    # [noun]  great and constant diligence and attention

    # [noun]  the strength of a solution; number of molecules of a substance in a given volume (expressed as moles/cubic meter)

    # [noun]  the spatial property of being crowded together

    # [noun]  complete attention; intense mental effort

    # [noun]  increase in density

  6. concentration is a state of your mind where all your senses are focused on a single entity (your goal). People can often seen concentrated while playing chess and shooting games

  7. 1. the ability or act of remaining focused on an object or goal.

    2. How you succeed

assiduity: great and constant diligence and attention

  9. This question has two meanings one is already given by a friend  from chemistry point of view. The other answer is " Concentration is ignoring all other matters n situation and considering only one particular issue. It can be a numerical, a problem or a thought!"
