Define gossip please! Not out of a dictionary.?

My two g/f`s got in an argument and drug me in the middle of it. The two of them made up which is fine, but when I asked a tiny question about her she accused me of gossiping. So what is GOSSIP???

  1. Gossip is when you talk about someone with other people(or another person).  It can be spreading a lie around or telling information that that person didn't want anyone else to know.

  3. In reality, the word gossip and the word gospel both come from the same root:  "good news".

    In practicality, "gossip" is generally used to mean that you told something you weren't supposed to repeat, a thing told you in confidence.  Or, passing rumors, unsubstantiated speculation about someone else's business not yours.  Also, "talking behind my back", "backstabbing", "talking out of both sides of your mouth."
