To me, hope is something that will let you down more than ten times in your life.. You bring your hopes up to something really special, or something you're really looking forward to, but then when you get crushed, it takes a while to recover. Put faith towards the person/occasion, not hope.

Also, I think hope is just a feeling designed to keep people sane.

But don't listen to me, I'm 15. :)

Hope to me is deeper than what I see posted so far. It is hard to put into words, but I will try. Hope is not like "I'm hoping my boyfriend will ask me to marry him." That is wanting. Hope is knowing that you will be ok no matter what. No matter what darkness is going on in your life, you have hope that you will survive and find some happiness and/or normality in your life again. If you honestly feel you have no hope left, you are ready to lay down and die. I think that is what makes people kill themselves - they have lost all hope. I think faith can help give us hope. Don't know if I was able to communicate my feelings on this, but I think so. Rail

Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope implies a certain amount of perseverance — i.e., believing that a positive outcome is possible even when there is some evidence to the contrary.
