Society pushes the concept of normal, because all that lies outside of 'normality' scares the c**p out of us.

"Normal" is overrated because it is a fluid concept that changes over time and is different in every culture. Years ago it was considered normal for young girls (12/13) to be wedded off. Whilst nowadays that would be seen as a complete deviation from the norm and therefore socially unacceptable and illegal.

If people get on your case about not being "normal", ask them what's so great about being "normal" and why do they consider themselves "normal" and not someone else?

Normal is a word, that has many meaning to it.  Normal usually means; that something is what it should be.  That's about it, and yes the word normal is overrated.

Normal is anything that goes according to nature. Anything against nature is abnormal.
